Vietnam Manufacturing is booming, and finding the right supplier is getting more accessible, but it’s not as easy as in China, and there are still several challenges. One of the most significant issues with finding suppliers is that Vietnam's business landscape is fragmented. While Vietnam is the third fastest-growing economy globally, the country is still experiencing growing pains. As a result, finding a supplier sometimes feels like the Wild West, and information can be hard to come by without actually being there. Despite this, there are still several resources to help you out. This guide compiles the best ways to find a supplier in Vietnam.

Vietnam manufacturers directory
While China has Alibaba and several other alternatives for finding suppliers, you may ask how I can find suppliers in Vietnam. First, you can use Alibaba, which allows you to sort by country. Select Vietnam on the country tab. Beyond Alibaba, a few other websites focus specifically on Vietnam and are excellent resources for finding Vietnamese suppliers.
Alibaba
Even though Alibaba is a Chinese company focused on China, it still has a very impressive list of Vietnamese suppliers. If you used Alibaba to find suppliers in China, you are already familiar with searching for suppliers. If you do not, check out our guide: https://www.cosmosourcing.com/blog/sourcing-on-alibaba-to-sell-on-amazon-fba.
Vietnam Export
This is a good, modern website that maintains an extensive database of verified factories in Vietnam. The website is endorsed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam. Due to its quality, it is much better to use than others. In addition to the database, it provides industry-specific information and news. The website also promotes agricultural products such as coffee and Lychee, which are often difficult to find.
Vietnam Manufacturers
In 2009, Vietnam Manufacturers started as a trade journal to promote Vietnamese companies and business interests worldwide. They have since expanded and now provide a large searchable database, trade show promotions, and industry-specific publications.
VTown.vn
Vtown.vn is owned by Washin Engine Co. and is intended to be a database of Japanese manufacturing companies and businesses in Vietnam. They maintain a very good database of Vietnamese-based manufacturers in English that is easy to search for. Since the factories in their database are large and Japanese-managed, you tend to find manufacturers with much higher quality control. I have used this database and found good suppers through them.
VietnamAZ
VietnamAZ is made for American companies looking to buy and do business in Vietnam. They maintain a large database of suppliers.
VietnameseMade.com
VietnameseMade is another manufacturer database that focuses on the Vietnamese market. It is a B2B trade portal that helps connect buyers worldwide to sellers in Vietnam.
VCCI News
While the website mainly provides news to Vietnamese exporters, it maintains a directory of businesses in Vietnam. Unfortunately, the database is simple and organized by category, so it’s not easy to use.
Global Sources
While the main focus is on China, they still have a decent search for suppliers in Vietnam. Global Sources is one of the three websites (along with Alibaba and 1688) I recommend for every project. Global Sources is a Hong Kong-based company that provides a very well-vetted list of suppliers and puts on several trade shows. Global Sources was started in 1960 and published its first suppliers’ databases on CD-Roms. Global Sources also runs a sourcing trade show that runs in the gaps of the Canton Fair.
Global Sources’ main draw is that they do a much better job with supplier quality control. The website is made for English speakers, clean, and much easier to navigate and use than Alibaba. Global Sources also provides several tools to help you organize quotes.
Vietnam Credit
This website technically isn’t a way to find suppliers but a registry of businesses in Vietnam that you can use to look up registration and creditworthiness. Vietnam Credit is a great tool for cross-reference and double-checking any suppliers you have found.
Global Manufacturers
Global Manufacturers has been the leading platform for global wholesale trade since 2008, with about 15 years of millions of page views per month, a high return ratio, and professional customers in the field. Optimization for Desktop and Mobile devices and continuous improvement makes us Simple, Scaleable, and Secure.
Vietnam Trade Associations
Vietnam has a huge and diversified economy that spans many different industries. As these industries grow, many have created trade associations to actively promote specific industries’ interests, not just in Vietnam but worldwide. Several of these associations maintain their suppliers' databases. However, it is not a complete list, as Vietnam has almost 100 trade associations. Cosmo maintains an internal database, and if you reach out to us, we can introduce you to one that fits your needs.
Vietnam Furniture Manufacturers
Handicraft and Wood Industry Association
They are also called HAWA. Despite the name, their primary focus is on Furniture manufacturers of all kinds. In addition to furniture, they represent manufacturers of bamboo, rattan, water hyacinth, lacquerware, fine art, pottery, and porcelain goods. They represent hundreds of wood manufacturers in Vietnam and work with them to promote domestic and international trade. The industry puts on three exhibitions annually, most notably the Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Expo, which we discuss below.
Vietnam Clothing Manufacturers
Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association
The Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association represents hundreds of manufacturers, suppliers, and other companies associated with the clothing industry in Vietnam. The Association seeks to promote Vietnamese apparel, garment, and textile manufacturers worldwide, host regular events and trade shows, and maintain a directory of manufacturers. Unfortunately, the directory is limited only to those manufacturers that pay the membership fee, so it isn’t as complete as it should be.
Vietnam Plastic Manufacturing
Vietnam Rubber Association
Vietnam is one of the only countries with a fully vertical supply chain for rubber goods. Vietnam has a significant agricultural base to supply raw rubber and latex to factories that produce finished products.
Vietnam Coffee Producers
Vietnam Coffee - Cacao Association
VICOFA is a private trade association representing the interests of the coffee and cacao industry. It represents over 100 members, ranging from Producers and farmers to processors, warehousing, and logistics companies that work with the coffee industry. In addition, Cosmo Sourcing has a unit dedicated to coffee sourcing and can help you with it.
Vietnam Handbag and Shoes Manufacturing
Vietnam Footwear Leather and Handbag Association
This Association focuses more on the leather and handbag aspect than on shoes, but they do a great job connecting potential buyers in the leather goods industry. They have over 200 members who are predominantly in handmade leather goods.
Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers ((VASEP)
Vietnam is the world’s third-largest seafood exporter, producing over $5 billion in seafood exports yearly. VASEP represents hundreds of fisheries, fishermen, packaging companies, and other seafood industry players and maintains a supplier database. Unfortunately, Cosmo cannot source seafood, so if you are interested in sourcing seafood from Vietnam, please contact VASEP.
Vietnam Electronics Manufacturers
Vietnam Electronics industry
It is a disappointing, low-tech, outdated site for Vietnam’s most promising and forward-thinking industry. The Vietnam Electronics industry represents many electronics manufacturers in Vietnam, and you can contact them to find a suitable partner.
Vietnam Sourcing Fairs and Trade Shows
Like the rest of the world, Vietnam has several trade shows. Most of the trade shows in Vietnam are focused on specific industries. Trade shows are concentrated in just two cities, like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, which host over 90% of its trade shows. For a complete list of Trade shows in Vietnam, check out https://10times.com/vietnam/tradeshows
Vietnam International Trade Fair
As it is commonly called, Vietnam Expo is Vietnam’s largest trade show and one of the only ones not focused on any particular industry. Instead, it promotes trade and industry in Vietnam and connects international buyers to Vietnamese suppliers. Vietnam Expo aims to be for Vietnam what the Canton Fair is for China. The Fair is held in Hanoi; the next one will occur in April 2024.
Dates: April 15-18, 2024
City: Hanoi
Venue: Hanoi International Exhibition Center
91 Trần Hưng Đạo, Hoàn Kiếm
Vietnam International Furniture & Home Accessories Expo
Most commonly referred to as VIFA EXPO, it is the largest furniture trade show in Vietnam. Last year, almost 400 manufacturers were represented, and over 1,800 booths were present. The Fair features a full range of Furniture manufacturers, handicrafts, home decor, and more. It is held every March. The show focuses on furniture and home accessories and will feature finished products and the latest manufacturing methods and innovations.
Focus:
Furniture
Wooden goods
Handicrafts
Home Goods
City: Ho Chi Minh
Venue: Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC)
799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Phu Ward, Dist 7.
The Vietnam International Textile & Apparel Accessories Exhibition
This trade show is usually referred to as VITA Tex and is one of Vietnam’s top trade shows for Clothing, textiles, and accessories (zippers, buttons, etc.). Vietnam is rapidly becoming one of the most essential clothing and textile manufacturing countries. As a result, this show is becoming the hub for clothing manufacturers in Vietnam, China, and Southeast Asia. If you want to create a new clothing line, I suggest this event and its two sister events.
This event is held simultaneously at venues such as the Vietnam International Textile & Garment Industry Exhibition and the Vietnam International Footwear Machinery & Material Industry Exhibition. These events focus more on the machinery and materials used in manufacturing than on the final goods.
Focus:
Fabrics
Accessories
Garments
Filaments
City: Ho Chi Minh City
Venue: Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC)
799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Phu Ward, Dist 7.
International Exhibition on Electrical Technology & Equipment
ETE Vietnam is the largest electronics expo in Vietnam. For 2020, they anticipate having 500 exhibitors and over 20,000 visitors. This trade show is focused on all electronics and components. It is held simultaneously in venues such as The International Exhibition on Products, Technologies of Energy-saving, and Green Power (Enetec Expo 2019), focusing on Green and renewable energy.
Focus:
Electronics
Green Technologies
LEDs
Renewable energy
City: Ho Chi Minh City
Venue: Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC)
799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan Phu Ward, Dist 7.
Vietnam-Based Chambers of Commerce
Chambers of Commerce can often be a great start to finding suppliers, as almost all maintain a large database of potential suppliers.
Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) supplies information to people who wish to find suppliers. Contact a representative, and you can get a list of Vietnamese members who could be potential partners. It’s a good resource to find a list of supplies but not a great way to form long-term relationships.
AmCham Vietnam
AmCham is so large that it operates two of them, AmCham Hanoi and AmCham Ho Chi Minh City. Both are similar in that they promote American business interests abroad. They maintain a large database of American manufacturers and businesses in Vietnam. If you are an American or represent an American company, you can connect with Vietnamese suppliers in their database.
South Korea & Japan Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam
I don’t want to go overboard with commerce’s listing chamber, but I’m linking Japan and South Korea simply because both countries have a large manufacturing presence in Vietnam. Both chambers of commerce maintain a list of their companies manufacturing in Vietnam from their respective countries. While Vietnam’s manufacturing has taken off, its management, in many ways, still feels a little old-fashioned. Many prefer working with a foreign-managed company with a more Western business style.
Over 120 countries operate in the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce, and you should be able to find them by typing “[Country name] Chamber of Commerce Vietnam” and getting the results you want.
